Automatic Plough Shear Mixer are one of the most versatile mixing equipments catering to varied applications of solid-solid, solid-liquid and solid-liquid-gas phase mixing/ reaction operations, which may involve fine to coarse powders, medium or short fibers, solvents to viscous resins, cakes, sludge, gel, etc. Mixing in plough shears ensure there is thorough and uniform mixing with unmatched repeatability of operation and thus the mixer qualifies for top of the line automation in mixing systems. In principle the mixer utilizes partial fluidization and forced convection of the raw material throughout the mixing zone resulting in most efficient mixing in terms of time and distribution, even ingredients added in micro quantities are efficiently and uniformly distributed in the product using Plough Shear Mixer.


Principle of Mixing

• The material inside the mixer undergoes forced convection, the particles are lifted along the circumference and thrown radially inwards towards the central shaft and axially in either direction along the drum axis. The geometric pattern gives a sequential motion to the particles, the degree of agitation further controls the forced convection. The design of the equrptnent ensures there are no static zones and ingredients everywhere within the mixer are subjected to mixing. 
• In some applications high speed choppers are installed, they produce localized partial fluidization in the powder bed, the cutting edges prevent formation of lumps and agglomerates.
